Sports Performance Manager

Job purpose: 

As the performance center manager your key mission is using your know-how, technical expertise and leadership to support & continually drive RYZE’s Holistic Athlete development vision. You will craft and oversee the implementation of the needed programs through leading a team of specialists in strength & conditioning, mental health, nutrition and physiotherapy and ensure continuous improvement of athletic performance for athletes across all sports. 


You will also offer add-on consultation and services to the members related to nutrition and/or physiotherapy. 

What do we expect from you:  

1. Key accountabilities: 

  • Prepare the center annual operational plan based on the academies plans and programs as well as the services that can be offered to members 

  • Prepare the needed budget to achieve the set programs including manpower plan, equipment, tools, consumables and CAPEX as applicable 

  • Estimate the potential revenue that might come from consultation provided to members such as physiotherapy and nutrition coming from the Fitness members  

  • Track and adhere to the approved budget and ensure efficient and effective spending  

  • Set the Center’s operating policies & procedures and regulations and ensure they are strictly followed 

  • Set the center objectives and  KPIs 

  • Oversee the development of programs related to injury prevention, management, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for chronic/high profile injuries and set the quality standards and SLAs to ensure the effectiveness of these programs 

  • Oversee the development of nutrition and mental health programs that cater for the requirements of the athletes across the different sports 

  • Work closely with the sports director and the Head of Academies on the implementation of all these programs 

  • Manage athletes assessment and evaluation procedures 

  • Work with the technology team on searching for and bring in the needed tracking tools and technology  

  • Collaborate with the Fitness Complex Manager to identify and/ or offer consultation, related to nutrition and physiotherapy, to the members  to: 

  • Enhance customers’ value proposition through offering a full fledged services to the members 

  • Leverage the center value and expertise in generating revenues  

  • Set the working schedules and leaves plan for the team to avoid any gaps in operations  

  • Ensure preventive maintenance plans are timely performed as well as ensuring any ad-hoc requests are timely attended to 

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislations 

  • Partner with Sports Heads to ensure supporting them with high quality service to ensure offering unique and valuable experience to athletes and members as well as attending to their inquiries and complaints 

  • Collaborate with the Sports Effectiveness manager in communicating with and explaining to the Marketing and Events with regards to: 

  • Promoting for the services offered at the center 

  • Developing and implementing Health and Wellness events/ activities as well as communicating any important news or messages. 

 2. People Management: 

  • Ensure the team strictly abide by the set “Code of Conduct” 

  • Responsible for engraving RYZE values within the team and ensure they are living these values 

  • Responsible for attracting, recruiting and retaining talents in collaboration with the People and Culture  

  • Set the team’s individual objectives and KPIs and keep tracking their performance and coaching them to support them land on their objectives  

  • Conduct regular reviews with the team on current and emerging education that ensuring professional development for the team’s know-how 

  • Keep coaching the team to ensure offering delightful experience to members and athletes 

 3. Health and Safety: 

  • Infuse the culture of safety and ensure the center meets the set safety standards and that the whole team and center users strictly adhere to the HSE instructions and regulations and will be responsible for any accidents that might occur within the center  

  • Ensure the team attend the Safety training done by the HSE department and keeping the records of their training 

  • Instantly report any incidents to the HSE team to provide the needed support to avoid repeated occurrences  

 4. Reporting: 

  • Programs implementation status 

  • Center Performance 

  • Budget  

  • Incidents reports 

 5. Continuous improvement: 

  • Responsible for tracking latest sports and fitness trends worldwide, in order to apply relevant development methods accordingly 

  • Provide a system and environment that allows and encourages innovation within the relevant fields of expertise  

  • Build a habit of learning the latest trends and sharing knowledge among the different expertise inside the center 

 

What do you need to perform your role: 

 To perform your job successfully, you need to have the following minimum requirements: 

 Education and experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in sports science. 

  • Holder of the necessary certifications  

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in health management, physiotherapy, life sciences, business or management is an asset 

  • 10+ years of experience in the same position 

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is an asset 

  • Certified Trainer 

  • First Aid certificate
