Job purpose:
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the sports club premises, its staff, members, and visitors. This includes monitoring and controlling access, patrolling designated areas, responding to incidents, and enforcing club policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring the sports club premises.
- Control access points, verifying identification, and ensuring authorized entry.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and perform regular security checks.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as necessary.
- Maintain order and enforce club policies and procedures, addressing any violations or disruptions.
- Provide excellent customer service to club members, guests, and staff.
- Assist with crowd management during peak hours and events.
- Escort individuals, when required, to ensure their safety within the premises.
- Collaborate with other staff members, such as facility managers and event coordinators, to ensure seamless operations.
- Complete incident reports, including detailed descriptions of events, actions taken, and resolutions.
- Report any safety hazards, suspicious activities, or maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Stay updated on security best practices, emergency protocols, and legal regulations.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Health and Safety:
- Knowledgeable of and adhere to the HSE and Fire policy procedures
- Is security conscious with respect to employees, members and property and reports suspicious circumstances to the Manager.
What do you need to perform your role:
To perform your job successfully, you need to have the following minimum requirements:
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in security or a related field is preferred.
- Valid security guard license or certification (if applicable to the region).
Skills and knowledge:
- Excellent observation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform regular patrols and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control, and other security equipment is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for generating incident reports and accessing information.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
