Job purpose:
You will be assisting the company in managing its operations in compliance with the country's relevant laws and regulations as well as with internal policies. You will advise on the day-to-day activities of the business as well as issues arising internally or externally with the business partners, club members, vendors, and with governmental entities to safeguard the company from any potential risk or in compliance and protect the company's rights.
What do we expect from you:
Key responsibilities:
Act like a strategic business partner by providing proactive advice for all legal matters to Executives and Senior Management and provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
Draft, review, negotiate and solidify all types of contracts and legal documents to ensure that it is in the organization’s best interest and in order to confirm that reasonable terms and conditions are included to cover the risks. i.e. limitation of liability, consequential damages, liquidated damages, warranty provisions etc..
Create all the legal policies, guidelines, and standards.
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsels, public authorities etc.).
Draft and review the legal terms and conditions to ensure their compliance with Egyptian laws and regulations.
Assist in drafting internal club regulations and make sure its compliance with the relevant laws and regulations and ensure proper implementation and adherence by the relevant parties
Keep informed on new laws and regulations, including the sports law, and transmit information to the concerned departments to make sure the company is always in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
Collaborate with the HR Department in matters related to labor law.
Communicate with External law firms for litigation cases and manage the follow-up.
- Oversee and manage relations with external stakeholders such as governmental authorities, ministries, law offices…etc.
- Get involved in conflicts and or investigations, as applicable, in relation to employees/labor issues, members, vendors…etc
2- Continuous improvement:
Stay up to date with the Law principles and updates
Lead the legal-related awareness across the organization to ensure key management team members are updated with the relevant new laws and regulations to avoid any risk due to lack of knowledge
What do you need to perform your role:
To perform your job successfully, you need to have the following minimum requirements:
Education and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Law or relevant and license to practice law.
3-5 years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or a corporate.
Experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
Skills and knowledge:
Excellent legal skills and knowledge of Egyptian Laws
Excellent contracts drafting skills, in both Arabic and English languages
An excellent communicator who can present complex legal terminology in layman's terms accessible to people across the business.
Great team player who has a positive mindset
Detail-oriented
Resourceful with excellent follow-through skills
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
